About Our Program

Country Neighbor Program, Inc. is a multi-purpose community center providing a focal point for services to help people help themselves by enhancing life skills and supporting individuals and families as they strive for a dignified, independent lifestyle.  The facility is located at 39 South Maple Street, Orwell, Ohio (between Save-A-Lot and the Post Office).

Country Neighbor is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation governed by a  Board of Directors.  Programs are available to anyone on a non-discriminatory basis, in-home or at our center.

Country Neighbor is funded in part by United Way of Ashtabula County, District XI Area Agency on Aging, Inc. under Title III of the Older Americans Act, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Ashtabula County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and mental health Services, Ashtabula County Senior Services Levy, Private Foundations, Bequeathals, and private donations.

Country Neighbor provides a wide variety of services for residents in southern Ashtabula County, including the following townships – Windsor, Orwell, Colebrook, Wayne, Williamsfield, Andover, Cherry Valley, New Lyme, Rome, Hartsgrove, Trumbull, Morgan, Rock Creek, Roaming Shores, Dorset, Lenox, and Richmond.

Some services are available for residents in northern Trumbull County, including the following townships – Mesopotamia, North Bloomfield, Greene, Mecca, Kinsman, Johnson, Bristolville, Gustavus, Vernon, and West Farmington.  Programs such as personal/home health care, home delivered meals,  homemaker/chore, and adult day care service.  There are eligibility requirements with many of these programs.

Many programs have eligibility requirements because of the funding sources such as transportation, chore/homemaker, personal/home health care, home delivered meals, adult day services, prescription assistance, family caregivers’ assistance and respite services.

Country Neighbor also operates a food-bank which provides food/nonfood items to emergency food pantries, onsite meals, not for profit daycares, and shelters in Ashtabula County.  Country Neighbor distributes an average of 1 million pounds of food to 501(c)(3) organizations within the county.
